NEW NOC code 2021 & Express Entry Eligibility Updates

NEW UPDATES ON EXPRESS ENTRY

Starting on November 16, 2022. IRCC & ESDC is switching to the NEW National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021, replacing the current version of NOC 2016. The current NOC 2016 skill type and skill level structure (NOC 0, A, B, C and D) will be replaced by a 6-category system representing the Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities needed to work in an occupation.

The Skill type of 0, A, B, C, D is replaced with 5 TEERS. For candidates in the EXPRESS ENTRY pool, you must update your NOC to 2021 in order to receive an ITA from IRCC.


Program delivery instructions to reflect the coming changes for the following lines of business is also being updated:
Canadian experience class
federal skilled trades
federal skilled workers
out-of-status construction workers
economic classes (non-Express Entry)
